Flights, frustration and fly balls

As noted in the previous blog posts, Sunday had its share of frustration. Our flight was delayed and the somewhere between Air Miles and Budget, our car rental vanished, forcing us to pay out of pocket for a car rental that already cost us thousands of points. Air Miles was closed Sunday so we won't be able to sort that out until Monday.

After dropping our stuff off at our condo, it was off to Costco to pick up some groceries. Then we headed halfway across the island to see the Edmonton Capitals play the Maui baseball team. Yup, we travelled thousands of miles to watch our hometown baseball team. That's dedication.

There were literally dozens of people watching the game.

Some of the Capitals warmed up by tossing a football.

It didn't work. The Maui team blitzed Edmonton for 5 runs in the 5th and won the first game 5-0.

Edmonton got its revenge in the second game of the doubleheader, scoring a whopping 8 runs in the second inning, which took about 40 minutes to play.

We left the game at the end of the 4th inning with Edmonton up 8-1. It was late. We were tired. And we still had some groceries to get.

Monday's itinerary consists of familiarizing ourselves with our condo complex and going to the beach and/or the pool. Or both. Repeatedly.
